Experience the drive of a lifetime before even passing your test by getting behind the wheel of a 19 foot long, 7.5 tonne American monster truck! Available at either Telford (Shropshire) or Market Harborough (Leicester), these are the only places in the UK where youngsters can take control of this V8 behemoth. After a briefing, climb into the cabin of the beast known as Mayhem, which boasts nitrogen-filled shock absorbers, 66 inch tyres and a growling six litre, 300 bhp Chevvy engine. Feel the power of the huge wheels and the sophistication of the crab steering as you drive three laps around the oval coned course, with an instructor on hand to offer tips throughout. Take home a certificate as a memento – the ultimate in monster truck driving!

Availability: At least one weekend date every two months between March and September. Weather: Driving may be cancelled in extreme weather conditions which would make it dangerous. Don’t worry if it’s raining – these are all-terrain vehicles and a bit of mud and water can make the experience more exhilarating. Duration: Lasts around one hour including briefing, tuition and around 10 minutes of driving. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to seven others. All driving is held on a one-to-one basis with an instructor. Spectators: Spectators can sometimes be accommodated, please check with the venue when booking. Dress Code: Dress comfortably and suitably for the weather – and be prepared to get muddy! Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age 10, maximum age 17. Min height 4’10”. Participant must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over). Proof of age is required upon sign in. All venues are wheelchair-friendly. Other Info: The monster truck has dual controls.
