Scenic breaks for two do not come much more poetic than at The Waterhead. This charming hotel on Coniston Water with lawns running down to the lakeshore is set amongst dramatic scenery between the lake and the mountains. Spend the night in a standard-grade double or twin room with en suite facilities, TV and hospitality tray. Breakfast for two is included. Coniston Water with the Old Man towering above at 803 metres offers a variety of lake activities, as well as excellent walking to suit all abilities. For those who prefer a gentler pace there are lake cruises and a wealth of historic houses to visit – or if you’d rather stay in, head down to the lounge or gardens and relax.
