Description
A chance to see this breathtaking ancient structure from an aerial view. Flying in a Cessna 172, the pilot will bring you to see this World Heritage site that has stood for over 2000 years. Take in the beautiful scenery while learning about the awe inspiring Roman Forts Vindolanda, Housesteads and Birdoswald and survey the ancient northern boundary of the Roman Empire. Taking off from and landing at Carlisle Airport, you don’t need to be a history lover to appreciate the view.
Availability: Seven days a week. The venue is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Weekends can get very busy, if you want a weekend date we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts for about 60 minutes in total, including a 40 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: Share the flight with a maximum of two other passengers and the pilot. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch take-off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight is 17 stone. Maximum height is 6’4”. For security reasons, photographic id (ideally a passport) MUST be produced by all passengers on the day. Other Info:
