Description
After tea/coffee and a bacon roll at the hotel, you’ll go onto the centre for a tour, where you’ll get up close to different species. Then you’ll get expert tuition in the art of falconry and have time to handle the birds so that you get comfortable with one another. This experience does not involve hawking (hunting live prey) but includes a two hour woodland walk with red tailed hawks or Harris hawks, learning about the training of various raptors. You’ll watch a trained falcon flying in a wild flower meadow and help to fly one of the birds, getting some medieval-style thrills when a top predator flies in to land on your glove. Lunch at the falcon barn is included.
