Description
There’s something romantic about a gypsy caravan – it’s not camping, it’s glamping! The wooden caravan is a traditional, insulated gypsy home with a pull out double bed. Relax on the covered balcony, perfect for surveying the beautiful views of Tove valley and the neighbouring fields which contain a herd of over 40 llamas. The caravan comes with a lean-to with cooking station and exclusive access to the wet room at the visitor centre, just two minutes’ walk away. The rear of the caravan overlooks Northamptonshire woodland, all 20 acres of it free to explore during the stay. Take a guided llama trek on the second day of the break. There are local village pubs in which to eat lunch or dinner, but why not cook over an open fire the traditional way?
Availability: Available Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday between April and October. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance (even earlier for peak summer dates). Weather: Trekking would only normally be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions, call the venue beforehand if in any doubt. Duration: Check in at noon and check out at noon on the day of departure. The trek takes place on the second day of the stay and lasts around two hours. Numbers On Day: The trek consists of a small group of up to six people, the llamas and the guide. Spectators: Dress Code: Dress for a walk in the country, in long trousers, sturdy waterproof clothes and footwear, plus a hat on a cold day. Some spare wellies, rain capes and gaiters are kept at the farm just in case. Guidelines: Catanger is located just outside the village of Lois Weedon on the Wappenham Road. Look out for the sign in the gateway and follow the drive down to the buildings. Restrictions: Participants must be aged 18 or over. Other Info: Please note the llamas must not be ridden. The caravan is self-catering and an outdoor campfire with wood, a lean-to with cooking station and utensils are provided. Please note that once a booking is made, 21 days notice is needed for cancellation.
