Description
Originally a disused Cornish clay mine, the Eden Project was developed and opened in 2001. This educational charity encourages visitors to appreciate nature, learn new things and get inspiration about the surrounding world. Eden Project features some gigantic enclosures (one a tropical environment, another emulating the Mediterranean) of adjoining domes that house plant species from around the world and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames and create a stunning landscape, set within the varied lush surroundings which also include art and sculpture.
