Join Andy, an enthusiastic land yachter and instructor with over 16 years experience and his team, to learn the brilliant sport of sand or land yachting. Take part in this fun based experience over a couple of hours, and glide over the long sandy beach of Greatstone in Kent. The simple three wheeled vehicles with their single tall pole and sail really are as much fun to ride across the sand with as they look. With a little expert help and guidance, nerves soon disappear and you’ll be surprised at just how quickly you pick things up. In no time, lovers of a fast adrenaline rush can choose to fly on just two wheels, whereas other can simply enjoy running their kite buggie up and down the beach at their own pace, gulping in fresh seaside air.

Availability: Normal availability is Tuesday or Friday, but Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays can be arranged for a £10 surcharge per person. Please book four to six weeks in advance to ensure availability. Weather: This is a weather dependent activity and therefore it’s vital to call the venue on the day, to confirm conditions and go ahead. If postponed, an alternative date will be arranged. Duration: Lasts approximately two hours. Numbers On Day: Share a yacht together. There are up to eight other yachts on the beach. Spectators: Spectators are very welcome to come and watch, the surrounding area offers a variety of seaside attractions. Dress Code: Wear layers, it can get cold, bring a change of clothes and a towel. Gloves are recommended. All safety equipment is provided. Guidelines: Restrictions: Maximum 16 stone (102 kg). Minimum age is 16 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A disclaimer must be read and signed before anyone sails. The participant needs to be reasonably agile to get into and steer the craft. Other Info: Two people share a yacht and there are up to eight other yachts on the beach at any one time.
