Description

Initially used to test the aerodynamics of aircraft, the wind tunnel packs some serious power, allowing people to experience the rush of skydiving without the need to fall from the skies. Begin with a detailed briefing before donning a specialist flight suit to get ready for the wild ride ahead. Next, step into the mighty wind tunnel for two exciting 60 second body flying sessions (double the amount of freefall time experienced from a 10,000 feet skydive) with a fully qualified instructor on hand to offer tips and guidance throughout. Finish with a debrief, back on solid ground!

Availability: Available seven days a week throughout the year. The centre is closed on Christmas Day but operates on bank holidays. Weather: The tunnel is indoors and isn’t affected by the weather. Duration: Expect to be on-site for around one and a half hours, including a 20 minute safety briefing, kit issue (15 minutes), two 60 second body flying sessions and a full debrief. Numbers On Day: Training may be shared in a group of up to 12. All flights are held on a one-to-one basis in the wind tunnel with a fully qualified instructor. Spectators: Facilities are excellent and make for a good family outing. Spectators can watch the action from the free viewing gallery. Dress Code: No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If suitable footwear isn’t worn, it is compulsory to hire trainers from the venue. Jumpsuits and other equipment are provided. Lockers £1.
