This traditional coaching inn which dates back to the 17th century has 30 bedrooms, a bar (open all day), restaurant, classic library, function rooms and even a wonderful ballroom. The classically designed double rooms are individually quirky and a couple include a view out onto the river. The hotel has some beautiful open fireplaces to relax next to, or from its base why not head out to explore Yorkshire and Durham and visit some of the historic castles and gardens.
