Description
Wakeboarding is an exciting cross between water-skiing, snowboarding and surfing, combining all the thrills and the adrenaline rushes a fast water-based experience can offer. Head to an enclosed lagoon and get strapped to a single wide board with only a cable for comfort, before being pulled across the water at impressive speeds. During the session, get to grips with basic wakeboarding techniques, and by the end expect to be whizzing around the cable run like a pro! Wakeboarding is one of the country’s fastest growing watersports and an experience definitely not to be missed.
Availability: Selected Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season (May to October). Groups of six or more can book any day throughout the year. Weather: May be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions. Duration: Lasts for approximately one hour, including a briefing (arrive a few minutes in advance of the booked time to get ready). You’re welcome to stay on afterwards and watch other sessions taking place. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to seven other participants. Spectators: Guests are welcome at the marina and there is a club house and bar/cafe over looking the lagoon. Dress Code: Bring a swimming costume, towel. If it’s hot bring sunscreen, if it’s cold bring plenty of warm dry clothes to change into. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided. Guidelines: From the M25, go onto the M23/A23; the coastal route A27 links the city east and west. Take the exit for Shoreham Harbour and follow the road round to the traffic lights by Sainsbury supermarket. Turn left and then right at the next lights. Follow the road over the railway down to the coast and turn left. Hove Lagoon is a little way down on the right. Restrictions: Minimum age 14. Maximum weight 19 stone. Must able to swim 50 metres comfortably. Advise any medical conditions when booking, e.g. back or neck problems, or MS, which can affect your grip. Not suitable for pregnant women.
