Take the 1909 or 1910 Stanley steam powered car for a spin and feel as though you’ve been transported back in time. Exclusive to Red Letter Days, get behind the wheel of this elegant and sophisticated vehicle or simply soak up the atmosphere as a passenger. Take this stunning car out around the delightful country roads of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, passing a stately home in style. Begin with an introduction to the Stanley and discover a bit about the cars history before setting off on your journey initially as a passenger. After learning how the controls work, get into the driver’s seat and take control for 15 minutes. Finish this nostalgic experience with a photo opportunity.

Availability: Available weekdays only throughout the year. At least one date every six weeks. Weather: This drive may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions that could make driving dangerous. Please call the venue if in doubt. Duration: Lasts for around one hour and 15 minutes in total, with 55 minutes in the car and 15 minutes as the driver. If you prefer not to drive you can spend the whole trip relaxing as a passenger. Numbers On Day: Three passengers per car, with a maximum of two cars. Spectators: Spectators are welcome as there are on-site refreshments to be enjoyed and other activites available on-site. Dress Code: Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing should be worn on the day. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 21. Maximum weight 22 stone, and the minimum height is five feet.
