Experience the Land Rover Defender in its element with this rip-roaring driving experience on Thruxton’s challenging 4×4 off road course. Following an initial safety briefing, jump into the Land Rover with two other driving enthusiasts and negotiate your way around Thruxton’s many water crossings, steep gradients, twists, turns and traverses, in order to push the vehicle to its limits under the guidance of a seasoned instructor. During the session, learn essential 4×4 driving techniques such as axle articulation, approach, traction and braking – by the end, you’ll be driving like a pro! This demanding experience is a must for any ardent off road driving fan.

Availability: At least two weekend dates per month from February to November. Dates fill quickly, please allow at least six weeks advance booking notice. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. ice, snow or heavy rain) which would make driving dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Expect to be at the circuit for around two hours, including a briefing and at least 25 minutes driving time. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of the booked time to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: Sharing the Land Rover with two other drivers. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and the venue offers good facilities for spectators and drivers. Children must be closely supervised at all times and dogs are not permitted at any circuits. Dress Code: Dress comfortably (preferably avoiding synthetic clothing) and wear narrow, flat-soled shoes. A helmet and any special clothing is provided. Guidelines: Thruxton circuit is adjacent to and well signposted from the A303 between the M3 and M4, approximately one and a half hours from London. Proceed through the main entrance, up the drive and through the tunnel. The tunnel entrance is slightly off to the left at the top of the rise. Turn immediately left into the paddock car park and at the far end you will see the media centre building where you will need to sign in. Restrictions: Minimum height 5’2”, maximum height is 6’4”. Maximum weight is 18 stone. A disclaimer MUST be signed confirming you hold a full British or international driving licence and are fit enough to participate. Other Info: When booking expect to be offered the choice of buying a collision damage waiver at £20 to £40 additional charge. Please note there is no obligation to purchase this optional waiver.
