When it comes to the dramatic entertainment of a summer Battle Proms concert, there’s no better setting than Highgate House. On arrival, pick up a chilled bottle of Le Dolci Colline Rose Prosecco and get ready for an unforgettable show. With fairground stalls and a Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry displays early on, the evening really gets going with shots from a vintage field gun and an air display from Carolyn Grace in an LF Mark IX Spitfire. The New English Orchestra perform a spirited set of classical music, including Beethoven’s Battle Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture with live cannon fire. The evening reaches its conclusion with a flag waving proms finale, accompanied by favourites such as Rule Britannia and a firework display.
