Description
Enjoy an aerial adventure with a difference by embarking on a sensational 60 minute microlight flight. As with all experiences, safety comes first, so receive a short briefing before climbing into a dual-controlled ‘flex-wing’ microlight with a qualified instructor. Based on the frame of a hang glider, this aircraft offers amazing pace and handling as it soars majestically above the stunning Lancashire countryside. For confident flyers, there is also the opportunity to assume piloting duties by taking over the controls in order to experience the microlights amazing capabilities first-hand.
Availability: Seven days a week all year round except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Weather: Any cancellations due to weather will be re-booked for another date or time. All customers are allocated an 8am intial booking time and it is ESSENTIAL to call the venue from 8am on the morning of the experience to be given your specific flying time. Duration: The actual flight time is given upon calingl the venue on the morning of the experience. The flight lasts for approximately 60 minutes, but please allow for longer at the venue. Numbers On Day: The briefing might be shared, but all flight time is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified microlight flight instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to come along and watch take off and land. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy. Dress Code: Most microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. Wear sensible shoes (no heels) and gloves. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Maximum fully-clothed weight is 17 stone. Minimum age is 16 and under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who’ll be required to sign a disclaimer. Women in either the first or the last three months of pregancy can’t fly. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence, for which 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is needed to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
