Rediscover your sense of adventure (and what it s like to be soaked to the skin!) as you join up to five others on a raft for some great fun white water rafting in Northampton, England on a man-made course. Fed by electric pumps so water levels are consistently high throughout the year the man made white water rafting course is floodlit for exciting evening sessions. The UK’s white water rafting course grades Northampton course 2 – 3, the white water rafting grading system starts at one for a relaxed experience (a few splashes) up to six which is a stomach churning ride that is far too extreme to offer commercially. Northampton’s rafting course is stimulating, exciting and breathtaking, don’t take our word for it – experience this for yourself.
Availability: Selected dates from March to October. Dates are more scarce outside summer months. Weekend dates fill quickly – book six to eight weeks in advance. Weather: For safety, certain conditions (including water not being released by the environmental agency) may lead to postponement. For morning bookings call the day before, for afternoon/evening bookings call before setting out to check. Duration: Sessions last around two hours from initial introduction to debrief, including at least five runs down the course. Please arrive a few minutes early to register and allow for time afterwards to shower and change. Sorry, latecomers can’t be accommodated. Numbers On Day: Your raft holds up to six people plus a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch from the bank. A camera will come in handy. Spectators’ safety remains their own responsibility at all times. There are usually covered facilities available, but they might not see all of the action from there. Dress Code: Bring swimwear, a towel and a pair of old trainers. Clothes will get wet. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided. If you wear glasses, you’ll need to either secure them firmly or go without. Contact lenses are OK. Guidelines: Exit junction 15 off M1 onto A45 (East) towards Northampton/Wellingborough. Head for town centre/A428 and at the large roundabout turn right under the flyover towards Bedford. The slalom and rafting course is on the right within 300 yards and the red bricked centre is set back on the right. Go past the Marriott hotel, turn right at the mini roundabout into Rushmills then immediate right along the slip road following the fenced road to the centre. Restrictions: Min age 12. Max weight 16 stone. No experience necessary but you must be able to swim, be confident in water and fit enough to climb back into the raft if you fall out. Any medical conditions must be declared before booking and venue may test fitness. Other Info: Participants WILL get wet, but there are hot shower facilities at the venue. Jumping from the raft into still practice waters is part of the initial training session.
