Description
This scenic River Thames cruise provides a unique and stunning perspective of Oxford City and the surrounding areas. After boarding a river cruiser, head downstream passing the university regatta course, ancient Folly Bridge, Christchurch College and Meadows, as well as the university rowing houses. This particular stretch of the river which is locally known as the Isis, is both vibrant and busy – dotted with punts, pleasure boats, punts and rowing eights. Whilst on board, both tuck into a delicious picnic and a soft drink (ginger beer or elderflower presse). Alcoholic drinks can be purchased at the departure point to take aboard. This experience is a perfect way to relax and take in some seriously beautiful sights.
Availability: Cruises run on selected weekdays and weekend dates throughout the year. Approximately 52 sailings from March to October. Weekends are always busy; please allow several weeks advance booking notice. Weather: The experience takes place in all weather conditions apart from extreme conditions such as flooding. Duration: Cruises last for approximately two and a half hours, usually departing at 12.30pm. Numbers On Day: There will be a maximum of 12 people on board. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave from the river bank. Dress Code: Dress for the weather with a hat, sunglasses and sun cream in summer. Please avoid high heels. Guidelines: Restrictions: Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over). The boats don’t have wheelchair access, but boat staff are happy to assist passengers with limited mobility to embark and disembark.
