Description
Jump aboard a dual-controlled two-seated Piper training plane with a fully qualified instructor at the airfield in West Sussex, following a briefing on safety and flying methods on the ground. Then it’s time to head skyward for a 30 minute flight during which time (at the pilot’s discretion) the controls may be handed to over to take the reins for a portion of the session. The views are outstanding and the sensation of being aboard such an aircraft is unique.
Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding Christmas. Weekends can get very busy so we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance. Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts around 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing might be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight is 15 stone. Maximum height is 6’3”. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
