Originally used for military reconnaissance missions, the Piper Cub is a very versatile craft and its high wing structure makes for some sensational panoramic views once airborne. Begin with a full pre-flight safety briefing and instruction on basic controls before climbing into position ready for take-off. Once at altitude, soak in the beautiful coastal views as they unfold from the ground below, before taking the reins and assuming the role of honorary pilot. Guide this nimble craft effortlessly through the clouds under the expert guidance of a fully qualified instructor and witness the Piper Cub’s exceptional aerial capabilities first-hand. Should you catch the flying bug, this flight time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding Christmas. Weekends can get very busy so we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance. Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Expect to be at the venue for a total of one hour. The flight itself lasts for around 30 minutes. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: Briefings may be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch take-off and landing. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight is 16 stone. Maximum height is 6’4”. Other Info: To qualify for a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) you need 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying. If you have ever wanted to be a pilot, this is a great way to get started.
