It’s like stepping back in time when boarding a Cathedrals Express train hauled by a magnificent steam engine, from departure points across the South, the Midlands and London. After a champagne breakfast or brunch on board with tea and coffee, arrive in style at one of England’s most beautiful cathedral cities (choose from Bath, Bristol, Oxford, Canterbury, Lincoln, Salisbury, Carlisle, Ely, Exeter, Bournemouth, Litchfield, Shrewsbury or Weymouth). Disembark and spend a few hours sightseeing or shopping, then step back into the carriage to be served a delicious four-course dinner and relax in the smooth ambience of steam train travel on the return journey.

Availability: Trips run periodically from February and become more regular in March once the weather becomes warmer – please check latest availability with the supplier. In particularly dry conditions, trips may not run due to risk of fire. Excludes November and December. Weather: The weather should not affect the experience, however please note that the train runs on the public rail network and is subject to any imposed delays. Duration: Trips can last from 8am to 11.30pm, depending on the destination. The ticket, final timings and a full itinerary is sent several days prior to the departure date. Numbers On Day: Up to 64 passengers travel in the carriage, seated on tables of four. All seating is allocated subject to availability on the day by the supplier and cannot be guaranteed. Spectators: Dress Code: Smart casual wear please. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Smoking is not permitted on board. Only folding wheelchairs can be stored on board. Passengers must be able to walk to their seat but can be aided by staff. Please state mobility needs when booking. Other Info: Refreshments are available on board for an extra charge.
