Fulfil a childhood dream with this fire engine driving experience! Savour the chance to learn to manoeuvre and drive a fully functioning Dennis RS fire engine with the lights flashing. Start with a briefing before jumping behind the wheel of the V8, 200bhp beast which has a top speed of 80mph. Under the guidance of an instructor experienced in driving colossal, heavy vehicles, drive this monster for 25 minutes around the site’s perimeter, even getting a chance to try and parallel park!

Availability: At least one weekday or weekend date a month throughout the year. Weather: Driving is only ever cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow or ice) which would make driving at speed dangerous. Duration: Lasts for up to an hour and a half, with around 25 minutes of driving in total. Numbers On Day: Briefings are held in groups. All driving tuition is on a one to one basis. Spectators: Unlimited numbers of spectators are welcome. Please note that animals are not allowed at the site, with the exception of guide dogs. Dress Code: Dress comfortably and wear trainers or flat-soled shoes. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 18 and maximum weight is 18 stone. Minimum height is 5′, maximum is 6’4”. A full British or international manual driving licence must be held for over 12 months and be produced on the day in order to participate. Other Info: When booking expect to be offered the choice of buying a collision damage waiver at £20 to £40 additional charge. Please note there is no obligation to purchase this optional waiver.
