Experience a stunning aerial thrill like no other. Begin with a comprehensive briefing and discussion on any particular requirements with an instructor, so that the flight can be tailored accordingly. Once airborne in the high performance British Slingsby Firefly, the professional instructor will put this incredible craft through its paces – so hang on tight for a barrel roll and victory loop, 2000 feet above the ground. This ride can either be completely stomach-churning or very gentle. During the session, take over the crafts controls to experience the true thrill of flying first-hand.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year. Please allow several weeks notice when booking, particularly for weekend dates in the summer, although some bookings may be available at short notice. Weather: Flying is weather dependent and it is crucial that you call the weather line (after 7.30am please) on the day of your flight. If it is cancelled due to bad weather you’ll be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Expect to be on-site for at least an hour and your flight will last for 25 minutes (from chocks-off to chocks-on). Please arrive a few minutes before your booked flight time to be kitted out and briefed. Numbers On Day: Your briefing may be shared, but only you and your qualified pilot will be in the aircraft during your flight. Spectators: Spectators (including well behaved, supervised children and pets) are welcome. There is an airport restaurant which guests are welcome to use. A camera (not permitted when airborne) and a pair of binoculars will come in handy. Dress Code: Wear flat, soft-soled shoes. Any special clothing will be provided. Bring gloves in winter and sunglasses are recommended all year round. A camera may be used when the plane is on the ground. Guidelines: Gloucester Airport is adjacent to junction 11 of the M5. From Cheltenham take the take the Old Gloucester Road (B4063) then turn left into Bamfurlong Lane at the first set of lights and the airport entrance is about 400 yards on the right. The closest rail stations are Cheltenham or Gloucester, both a taxi ride away. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16 and maximum weight is 16 stone. Pregnant women, anyone who has suffered a neck, back or shoulder injury or is unable to climb aboard unaided can’t fly for health and safety reasons. Other Info: We suggest a light meal a few hours before your flight but please don’t drink alcohol (heavy food and alcohol can make you nauseous during a flight). These vintage aircraft are scrupulously maintained and serviced to ensure your safety.
