Enjoy the incredible sensation of vintage aviation with this 30 minute flying experience in Gloucestershire. Begin with a brief pre-flight run down, before hopping into the cockpit of a lovingly restored vintage Stampe SV4 – the classic Belgian equivalent of the English Tiger Moth. At altitude, enjoy amazing views of the ground below and the rush of the wind from the open cockpit. During the flight (subject to weather conditions, and at the discretion of the pilot), take control of the aircraft to experience the pure thrill of vintage flight first-hand. Take home a flight certificate as a special keepsake.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year. Please allow several weeks notice when booking, particularly during the most popular summer months. Weather: Flying is weather dependent and it is crucial that you call the weather line (after 7.30am please) on the day of the flight. The Stampe is an vintage open-cockpit plane and certain weather conditions may result in your flight being rescheduled. Duration: Expect to be on-site for at least an hour and the flight will last for 30 minutes (from chocks-off to chocks-on). Please arrive a few minutes before your flight time to be kitted out and briefed. Numbers On Day: The briefing may be shared, but only you and a qualified pilot will be in the aircraft during the flight. Spectators: Spectators (including well behaved, supervised children and pets) are welcome. There is an airport restaurant which guests are welcome to use. A camera (not permitted when airborne) and a pair of binoculars will come in handy. Dress Code: Stampes have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. Wear soft-soled shoes. Bring sunglasses and tie back long hair. Flying kit (jacket, headset and helmet) will be provided. Guidelines: Gloucester Airport is adjacent to junction 11 of the M5. From Cheltenham take the take the Old Gloucester Road (B4063) then turn left into Bamfurlong Lane at the first set of lights and the airport entrance is about 400 yards on the right. The closest rail stations are Cheltenham or Gloucester, both a taxi ride away. Restrictions: Minimum age 16 and max girth 40”. Minimum height 4’11”. If you fit into a standard car seat you should be comfortable in the cockpit. Pregnant women, anyone who has suffered a neck, back or shoulder injury or is unable to climb aboard unaided cant fly.
