For a horse driving experience with a vintage twist, look no further than this pairs horse drawn carriage lesson in rural Sussex. Start by meeting the horses, before grooming and preparing them for the drive ahead. Once the horses are harnessed to the carriage, it’s time to step aboard for a wonderful jaunt in the countryside. Take the reins of a traditional country wagonette and drive a pair of horses through the rolling Sussex countryside – just like they do in the movies! The views are breathtaking and with expert guidance from a BDS level four certified instructor, you are sure to be driving like a pro in no time.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: In the event of extreme weather conditions such as ice or snow, this experience may be cancelled and can be re-scheduled. If in doubt, please call the venue before setting off. Duration: Lasts around two and a half hours, including 40 minutes of hands-on driving time (20 minutes if split with a friend). Numbers On Day: This experience is exclusive to two people, plus a professional instructor. Spectators: Bring along a friend to sit in the carriage during the experience or share half of the lesson between you. Dress Code: Please dress according to the weather conditions and wear sensible flat soled shoes, trainers, wellies or walking boots. All specialist equipment is provided. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 10 (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). Maximum overall carriage weight is 40 stone.
