Description

Climb onto the train and experience life on the footplate of a magnificent steam locomotive on its regular journey. Join crews for a 20 mile return journey, hauling a passenger service through the stunning Hampshire countryside. The highly experienced engine crews are on hand to answer any questions and draw your attention to various points of interest along the way. To top it all, you will be the only passenger riding amongst the crew. What a fantastic way to experience the thrill of the sights, sounds and smells of life on the footplate.

Availability: Seven days a week from February to November. Book at least one month in advance. Weather: The weather should not affect this experience but if conditions are extreme please contact the station before leaving home. Duration: This experience lasts approximately one and a half hours. Numbers On Day: This footplate ride is exclusively for you and the engine crew. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave you off and can travel in the coaches, once a ticket has been purchased at the station. Dress Code: Stout footwear must be worn, trainers are not acceptable. Dress comfortably in old clothing that fully covers your arms and legs. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 18.
