For anyone who’s ever dreamed of being a real aeroplane pilot, this high-flying experience is a must. Available at three top UK locations, this stunning aerial adventure is designed to help budding flyers take those first steps towards becoming a private pilot. Start off with refreshments and a briefing, before taking a guided tour of the aircraft hangars. After a tasty lunch, receive an introduction to the dynamics and controls of your aircraft before buckling up and soaring to the skies for 20 minutes of hands-on, one-to-one flying time. Soak in sensational bird’s-eye views of the ground below while gently guiding the aircraft through the clouds under the wing of a professional instructor and experience what it’s like to be a genuine pilot.
Availability: At least one Friday per month throughout the year (plus occasional Saturdays in Northamptonshire), excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: Duration: Lasts up to four hours including a briefing, tuition and 20 minutes of hands-on flying time. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to seven other keen pilots. All flying time is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take-off and landing. A pair of binoculars or a camera comes in handy. Dress Code: Please bear in mind that inside the aircraft can get quite warm. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Min age is 14. Max weight is 14 stone, max height is 6’5”. For security reasons, photographic ID (ideally a passport) MUST be produced on the day to be permitted to fly. Wheelchair users are welcome. Other Info: This experience counts towards a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL). Please note, the lunch is a choice of a buffet style or a voucher for the on-site cafe.
