Then take to the skies for a 30 minute thrill and discover the basics of how to pilot a gyrocopter under expert tuition. The aircraft is dual-controlled, so take over the controls if you feel confident enough. This exhilarating flight experience really is perfect for those who love an adrenaline rush and is the ideal way to admire Scotland’s stunning scenery below.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, but please note the centre is normally closed during the Christmas period. Weather: Gyrocoptering is a weather dependent activity and it is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: The flight lasts 30 minutes, but please allow up to an hour at the venue. Numbers On Day: Your briefing might be shared, but your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land, dont let them forget to bring a camera or pair of binoculars. They can relax in the cafe and viewing area on the airfield. Dress Code: Gyrocopters have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. We recommend long trousers, closed in shoes, socks and long sleeve jumpers. Bring gloves in winter and sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Maximum weight is 16 and a half stone, maximum height is 6’6”. Minimum age is 16 and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Other Info: This can count towards a Gyrocopter private pilot’s licence which requires a minimum of 40hrs of training, made up of 15hrs dual instruction and 10hrs of solo flight. Please be aware this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the fainthearted.
