Description
Hop aboard a zippy AS355 helicopter for a sensational half hour sightseeing trip and gain a unique perspective of our capital city and its iconic landmarks. Enjoy the aircrafts incredible manoeuvrability (the helicopter can move sideways, backwards or simply hang stationary in mid-air) as you head to the heart of London, flying at an altitude of 1,500 feet. Enjoy breathtaking views of Tower Bridge, The London Eye, the House of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the O2 arena and the meandering Thames River before heading back to land.
Availability: Flights operate most Saturdays and Sundays from the end of January through to December. Weather: This is a weather dependent activity, mainly due to wind speeds and cloud base above the ground. It is crucial to call the venue before setting out to check conditions. All cancellations will be rebooked directly with the venue. Duration: Flight time lasts for up to 30 minutes from engines-on to engines-off. A 15 to 30 minute safety briefing takes place before the flight so please arrive 30 minutes in advance of the booked time to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: This experience is for one person but the helicopter is shared with up to four other passengers. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy. Dress Code: Please bear in mind that the helicopter can get quite warm and dress accordingly. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Exit M25 at J 26 onto A121 Loughton and Epping. At the relevant roundabout take B172 Theydon Bois. Go through the village onto Abridge and in Abridge turn left at t-junction and continue for a mile. The airport is on the right with parking available. Excel Charter operate from the third hangar past the security barrier on the right. Restrictions: Min age 16, max weight 17 stone. Wheelchair users need some mobility and must be accompanied by a participating adult. Pregnant women under seven months must get medical ok. Pregnant women seven months and over are not permitted to fly. Other Info: The venue is a CAA licenced operator and a member of the British Helicopter Advisory Board (BHAB). Photo ID (e.g. passport/photo driving licence) to be produced on the day.
