Description
Soar high above the Hertfordshire scenery with this chance to take a 30 minute light aircraft flight just outside London. After a thorough safety briefing, climb in the Cessna 152 and take to the skies for an exhilarating ride watching the landscape unfold below. The pilot explains the controls during the flight and demonstrates important flight techniques – the flight is one-to-one so everything is up close and intense. At the pilot’s discretion, take over the controls and get a total thrill to see what it’s like to fly a plane.
Availability: Monday to Friday throughout the year. The venue is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Weather: Flying is a very weather dependent activity and it is crucial to call the centre (after 9am) on the day, for a weather check. If the flight is cancelled due to the weather, a new booking will be scheduled. Duration: Lasts around 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing might be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. There is no minimum height, maximum 6’5”. Maximum weight is 14 stone. The venue can cater for some disabilities, participants must have some leg movement and be able to get in and out of the plane. Please call us if in any doubt. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
