Take to the skies in a Cessna 152 and experience the unrivalled joys of aviation with this 30 minute light aircraft flight in Hertfordshire. Following a briefing and discussion on flight safety, hop into the cockpit with a trusty instructor to get ready for take-off. Then it’s time for the main event – head up to the clouds and once at a steady altitude, marvel at the sensational bird’s-eye views of the Hertfordshire countryside while your instructor puts this nimble little craft through its paces. During the flight, take over the controls and navigate the plane through the clouds to get a sense of what it’s like to be a real light aircraft pilot! For those with the flying bug, this actually counts towards a Private Pilot’s Licence.

Availability: Seven days a week except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Weekends can get very busy; if a weekend date is required we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it can be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts around 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing may be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age 16. Max weight 15 stone. Max height 6’6”. For security reasons, photographic ID (ideally a passport) MUST be produced by all passengers on the day or they won’t be permitted to fly. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
