Embark on a real aerial adventure with this 30 minute light aircraft flying experience in Northamptonshire. Begin with a briefing on flight safety before climbing into the cockpit of a dual-controlled Piper Cherokee training plane with a fully qualified instructor to get ready for the take-off. Once strapped in, it’s time for the real fun to begin – enjoy beautiful views of the Northamptonshire countryside while your instructor effortlessly weaves the craft through the clouds. During the flight, take over the reins of the Cherokee and experience what it’s like to be a real light aircraft pilot. If you get the flying bug, this 30 minutes actually counts towards a Private Pilot’s Licence!

Availability: Seven days a week except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Weekends can get very busy; if a weekend date is required we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it can be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts around 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing may be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age 16. Max weight 15 stone. Max height 6’6”. For security reasons, photographic ID (ideally a passport) MUST be produced by all passengers on the day or they won’t be permitted to fly. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
