Try the crazy thrill of Piaggio Ape racing in Hertfordshire, exclusive to Red Letter Days and featured in Top Gear magazine. The three-wheeled beauties have been Italian style icons since 1949 and for this experience, they’ve been upgraded to racing spec with added stabilisers. After an introduction on how to drive the Ape, split into teams of two and enjoy 20 minutes of practice laps to decide qualifying positions. With a proper Le Mans start, race across the track, jump in the right Ape, get the engine started and go! During the 40 minute race, decide on a driving strategy with pit stops to switch drivers. Race on a one kilometre outdoor circuit and the top three teams are rewarded with a trophy. Start your engines.
