See the North’s most loved tourist attraction mapped out below, as you fly through the skies with a friend in a Cessna 172. With the pilot guiding you along this World Heritage Site, take in the magnificent views of Roman forts Vindolanda, Housesteads and Birdoswald, and marvel at the fact that they have endured for over 2000 years. See the northern boundary of the Roman Empire twist and turn through the English scenery, as the pilot lifts off from and eventually returns to Carlisle Airport.
Availability: Seven days a week. The venue is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Weekends can get very busy, if you want a weekend date we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts for about 60 minutes in total, including a 40 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: Share the flight with a maximum of one other passenger and the pilot. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch take-off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age four – under 16’s must be accompanied on the flight by a fare paying adult. Maximum weight is 17 stone. Maximum height is 6’4”. For security reasons, photographic id (ideally a passport) MUST be produced by all passengers on the day. Other Info:
