Take the rough with the smooth by enjoying a high-octane spin in a 450 hp Jet Viper before sailing a world-class SB20 keelboat alongside a small working crew. Start with a briefing, then get kitted with life jackets and waterproofs before heading out to open water in the powerful Jet Viper. Once out on the Solent, hold on tight while your skipper demonstrates donuts, crash stops, side slides and spins. After catching a little breath, it’s time to experience the joy of sailing a keelboat – control the ropes, man the deck, handle the hull and take the helm with guidance from a seasoned instructor – it’s the ultimate aquatic adventure.

Availability: Weekend dates from April to mid October. Book at least four weeks in advance (please be aware that bookings are taken up to a maximum of three months ahead). Weather: Sailing is a weather-dependent activity. It’s essential to call the venue for a weather check between 5pm and 7pm on the day before the experience to check weather conditions. Duration: Lasts up to four hours, including a briefing and around two hours and 45 minutes on the water. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to two other aquatic adventurer, plus a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the shore. Tell them to bring a camera and a pair of binoculars. Dress Code: Dress warmly and bring waterproofs and a change of clothes. Bear in mind that there is a high wind-chill factor aboard the boat. Wear non-slip shoes (e.g. trainers or deck shoes). An old pair of sunglasses/ski goggles are useful if it is windy. Guidelines: From M27, exit J3 onto M271 following signs to ‘Waterfront’. With Ocean Village on your right, drive straight on, under bridge until you reach T junction with ‘The Chapel Arms’ ahead. Turn right, then right again at roundabout by St. Mary’s Stadium (into Belvidere Road). Pick up signposts for Shamrock Quay and turn right into William Street. From M3, exit J14 onto A33, then follow directions as above. Please telephone if you have any problems. Restrictions: Minimum age is 12 (those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
