Description
Taking off from Carlisle Airport, this sightseeing tour over the Lake District soars like a local Osprey, giving flyers a true bird’s-eye view. Fly over the lush waters and green fells in a Cessna 172 and survey the full beauty of this popular holiday destination. The flight goes over Bassenthwaite Lake, where many Ospreys are known to reside, and cruises past some of the highest mountains in England. Sit back and relax as you take in views normally only seen by the most hardened of ramblers who walk the land.
Availability: Seven days a week. The venue is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Weekends can get very busy, if you want a weekend date we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts for about 75 minutes, including a 50 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: Share the flight with a maximum of two other passengers as well as the pilot. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch take-off and landing. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight is 17 stone. Maximum height is 6’4”. For security reasons, photographic id (ideally a passport) MUST be produced on the day or the passenger won’t be permitted to fly. Other Info:
