Description

Head up into the skies above Perth for an hour-long flight in a gyrocopter – what better way is there to see the beautiful Scottish countryside than from an open cockpit high above? Begin with a safety briefing from a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certified instructor, and learn the all-important flight information, as well as some fascinating facts about the gyrocopter itself. Take to the skies for 60 minutes with the instructor at the controls and experience the thrill of this nifty craft in action. The gyrocopter is dual-controlled so, if you are feeling confident enough, take over and enjoy the thrill of piloting for yourself. Perfect for those who love an adrenaline rush!

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, but please note the centre is normally closed during the Christmas period. Weather: Gyrocoptering is a weather dependent activity and it is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: The flight lasts 60 minutes, but please expect to be at the venue for up to an hour and a half. Numbers On Day: Your briefing might be shared, but your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land, dont let them forget to bring a camera or pair of binoculars. They can relax in the cafe and viewing area on the airfield. Dress Code: Gyrocopters have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. We recommend long trousers, closed in shoes, socks and long sleeve jumpers. Bring gloves in winter and sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Maximum weight is 16 and a half stone, maximum height is 6’6”. Minimum age is 16 and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Other Info: This can count towards a Gyrocopter private pilot’s licence which requires a minimum of 40hrs of training, made up of 15hrs dual instruction and 10hrs of solo flight. Please be aware this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the fainthearted.
