What’s occuring? Head to the skies in either a Piper PA28 or Cessna 150 for a sensational 60 minute light aircraft flight and find out exactly what it’s like to pilot one of these nimble aircraft. Not only does this experience offer flying fans a real taste of what it’s like to be a pilot, a fascinating tour of the hangar is also included. Check out a range of astounding ex-Soviet and RAF fighter jets before receiving a briefing and some pre-flight tuition. Once ready, climb into the cockpit of the light aircraft and soar to the skies, soaking in breathtaking views of mountains and rolling countryside while navigating a way through the clouds under the wing of a professional instructor. Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding all bank holidays, as well as the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, it can be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts around 90 minutes, including a briefing and a 60 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing may be shared. The flight itself is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take-off and landing. Dress Code: Please wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 13. Maximum height is 6′ 4”, maximum weight is 17 stone. All flyers and spectators must bring along photo ID. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
