Description

A flight in a light aircraft is a far cry from the large 747 passenger jets we board to go on holiday. After meeting a pilot for a discussion on important flying methods and a full safety briefing, step aboard a dual-controlled two-seater training plane (either a Cessna 150 or 152) at this airfield in Petersborough, in preparation for take-off. Once in the air, enjoy an exhilarating 60 minute flight, during which time (at the pilot’s discretion), there will be a chance to take over the controls to become honorary pilot.

Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year. Weekends can get very busy, if you want a weekend date we recommend booking several weeks in advance. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: Your briefing might be shared. Your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: A maximum of four spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: The Sibson Airfield is on the Wansford to Elton Road, accessible from both the A605 (northbound exit A1M junction 17 onto A605) or the A47. Turn onto the B671 through Elton village and turn second left towards Sibson and Wansford. The airfield single track road is a few miles on, past winding roads and a few sharp bends. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Minimum height is 4′, maximum 6’5”. Maximum weight is 16 stone. The venue can cater for some disabled participants, please call us to check before booking.
