Description
Start with a comprehensive briefing. You’ll chat through any specific requirements with your instructor so that the flight can be tailored to what you want (and how brave you’re feeling). Then climb aboard your Cessna 152 plane. Once airborne, your expert instructor will show you what your plane can do – so hang on tight for a breathtaking full aerobatic sequence, which might include rolls, stall-turns, wing-overs, barrel rolls, Cuban eights, rolls-off-the-top and, of course, loop the loops! The ride can be as stomach-churning or as gentle as you like – it’s up to you. Then if you want to have a go (and we’re pretty sure that you will) your instructor will hand over the controls and you can experience the thrill of flying a plane.
Availability: Flights run at least one day per week (could be a weekday or weekend) throughout the year. We suggest giving several weeks advance booking notice for this popular experience. Weather: Flying is weather dependent and it’s essential that you call the venue for a weather check. For morning bookings call the day before, for afternoon/evening bookings call before setting out. Cancelled flights can be rebooked direct. Duration: Chocks-off to chocks-on flight time is 30 minutes, but please allow for longer at the centre. Numbers On Day: Only you and the pilot will be in the plane. The briefing session may be shared. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy – there will be some great photo opportunities with your plane. Pets are not permitted at the airfield. Dress Code: Wear flat, soft-soled shoes. Any special clothing and headsets will be provided. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: From M25 exit junction 8 and follow the A217 towards Reigate. Take the A25 to Redhill and join the A23 following signs to East Surrey Hospital. Continue past the hospital for a mile and the aerodrome is clearly signposted. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum height is 6′. Maximum weight is 14 stone. Other Info: We suggest that you only have a very light meal or don’t eat at all before your flight (a hearty meal beforehand may make you feel nauseous). Similarly, please don’t drink alcohol before you fly – it will make you sick.
