Description

Aerobatic stunt flying experience days start off on the ground with a comprehensive briefing and chat through any specific requirements with an instructor so that the flight can be tailored to specific requirements (and levels of braveness). Then climb aboard the plane – either a British Slingsby Firefly, a De Havilland Chipmunk or modern light aircraft such as a Cessna. Once airborne, the expert pilot will demonstrate what the craft can do – so hang on tight for an aerobatic sequence including a roll, loop or stall turn. During the flight, take over the controls to experience the sensation of flying a plane first-hand.

Availability: Some venues operate seven days a week (subject to weather conditions), others a limited availability. Spring to autumn are the most popular times of year. We generally recommend booking several weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekend dates. Weather: Aerobatic flying is very weather dependent. It is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of bad weather you’ll be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Chocks-off to chocks-on flight time is 20 to 30 minutes, but please allow for longer at the centre. Numbers On Day: Only you and the pilot will be in the plane. The briefing session may be shared. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy – there will be some great photo opportunities with your plane. Pets are not permitted at airfields. Dress Code: Wear flat, soft-soled shoes. Any special clothing and headsets will be provided. Bring gloves in cold weather and sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: We will send you further location details when you have booked a date. Restrictions: Restrictions for this experience vary according to venue. As a rule, if you weigh over 14 stone or are more than 6′ tall, please check your suitability with us prior to booking. Other Info: We suggest that you only have a very light meal or don’t eat at all before your flight (a hearty meal beforehand may make you feel nauseous). Similarly, please don’t drink alcohol before you fly – it will make you sick.
