Get behind the wheel of the awesome Audi R8 at the fastest track in the UK, Thruxton. With a 4.2 litre V8 engine capable of reaching 187 mph, the Audi R8 really is a German motoring masterpiece, and this is your chance to experience its prowess first-hand. Kick off with a safety briefing before being given two demo laps from a professional instructor in a performance saloon to learn fundamental racing lines. Once ready, drive the Audi for three adrenaline-charged laps around the thrilling 2.4 mile Thruxton Circuit and experience its incredible capabilities first-hand. Unfortunately, you do have to give the keys back at the end!

Availability: At least two Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays per month from February to November. Dates fill very quickly, so please allow at least six weeks advance booking notice. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. ice or heavy rain) which would make driving at speed dangerous. Any unused laps are credited for another visit. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Expect to be at the circuit for one and a half hours, including a briefing and approximately ten minutes driving time. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of the booked time to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: All in-car tuition is on a one-to-one basis although briefings may be shared. During familiarisation laps in the performance saloon, up to three people share a car. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and the venue offers good facilities for spectators and drivers. Children must be closely supervised at all times and dogs are not permitted at any circuits. Dress Code: Dress comfortably (preferably avoiding synthetic clothing) and wear narrow, flat-soled shoes. A helmet and any special clothing is provided. Guidelines: Thruxton circuit is adjacent to and well signposted from the A303 between the M3 and M4, approximately one and a half hours from London. Proceed through the main entrance, up the drive and through the tunnel. The tunnel entrance is slightly off to the left at the top of the rise. Turn immediately left into the paddock car park and at the far end you will see the media centre building where you will need to sign in. Restrictions: Maximum height is 6’3”. Maximum weight is 18 stone. A disclaimer MUST be signed confirming you hold a full British or international driving licence and are fit enough to participate. Other Info: Thruxton is the fastest circuit in the UK and a popular course in the British Touring Car championships. Drive the full 2.4 mile circuit on the day. When booking expect to be offered the choice of buying a collision damage waiver at £20 to £40 additional charge. Please note there is no obligation to purchase this optional waiver.
