Description
Regarded by many as the archetypal British sports car, it’s not hard to see why the stunning Austin Healey 3000 is so fondly regarded by motoring enthusiasts of all ages, and this is your chance to drive it. Following a safety briefing, receive a demo lap around the track and get familiarised with racing lines and driving techniques in preparation for the main event. Once ready, get behind the wheel of the charming Austin Healey 3000 for six adrenaline-fuelled laps of Heyford Park’s circuit. To finish, hold on tight as a professional instructor takes the wheel of a hot hatch to drive you around the circuit at spine-tingling speeds.
Availability: At least one Friday or Saturday per month. The circuit closes from early December to late February. Weather: Driving might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice, heavy rain or high winds) which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue (if in any doubt). Duration: Be at the circuit for around two hours, including briefing, driving time and hot lap. Arrive promptly to sign in (or risk missing part or all of the experience). Driving commences approximately 45 minutes after the booked start time. Numbers On Day: All in-car tuition is on a one-to-one basis. Briefings are held in groups of up to 30 people. There are likely to be other vehicles on the track at the same time. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and this is a family friendly venue with refreshments available. Other extra (chargeable) drives and passenger rides are available on the day subject to availability. Dress Code: Dress comfortably (and warmly in winter) with trousers, long sleeves and narrow, flat-soled shoes to negotiate pedals that are close together. Guidelines: Northbound, exit M40 at j10, turn onto B430 Ardley and Middleton Stoney. Follow black truck route signs to Heyford Park, pass the Ardley Waste Depot on the left and turn right to Upper Heyford. At T-junction, turn right onto Camp road, go over two roundabouts and turn next right turn into Heyford Park Gate House. Black truck route signs to Heyford Park lead you directly to the correct security gate. Go thr’ Paragon Deliveries sign. Restrictions: Minimum age is 18 .Maximum weight is 18 stone, minimum height is 5′ and maximum height is 6’6”. A full British or international manual driving licence must be produced on the day in order to participate. Other Info: When booking expect to be offered the choice of buying a collision damage waiver at £20 to £40 additional charge. Please note there is no obligation to purchase this optional waiver.
