Ever looked at Ariel in the Little Mermaid and wanted to be her? The first of its kind in the UK, this freediving course with a magical twist is the closest it gets to being a real mermaid. The course is held in a heated pool, it’s held by professional freediving tutors and light snacks are included. Start with a class on freediving theory and breath-holding techniques, followed by a lesson on posture, swimming and posing underwater. Then it’s time don a mermaid tail and head underwater to put those newfound mermaid skills to the test. Glide elegantly through the water without the need of breathing apparatus and become a real mermaid – something to remember for a lifetime. At the end, take home a certificate as a memento.

Availability: One Saturday per month throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: Duration: Starts at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm. Numbers On Day: Share the course with up to seven other budding mermaids, plus a qualified instructor. Spectators: Dress Code: All magical mermaid equipment is provided. Please bring swimwear and a towel. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. All participants must be confident swimmers and are required to sign a medical declaration form.
