Conjuring up images of a more glamorous age – and of a more stylish approach to travelling, the Belmond Northern Belle (sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express) is inspired by the Belle trains of the 1930s and each luxury carriage has its own unique character. Each carriage dates from the 1920s and 1930s and is staffed by liveried stewards. The meal is freshly prepared and served with champagne and wine, and while the exact itinerary will vary according to the choice of location, we feel confident that guests will fall in love with this romantic train.

Availability: Selected Fridays and Saturdays from February – November, departing from Leeds, York, Coventry, Birmingham, Cardiff, Chester, Liverpool, Crewe, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Leicester and more. We recommend booking very far in advance to avoid disappointment. Weather: The weather should not affect the experience, however please note that the train runs on the public rail network and is subject to any imposed delays (although this is one train that no-one minds being delayed on). Duration: Trips usually last from three to five hours, depending on choice. Receive tickets, confirmation of departure times and a full itinerary by post shortly before the departure date. Numbers On Day: Up to 42 passengers share a carriage. Seating is most often within a table of four. There are some tables for two on the train. All seating is allocated subject to availability on the day by the supplier and cannot be guaranteed. Spectators: Dress Code: Smart daywear is appropriate; please do not wear jeans or trainers. Guidelines: Receive further details when a date has been booked. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. If a vegetarian meal is required, please let us know at point of booking. Smoking is not permitted on board. Only folding wheelchairs can be stored on board and some mobility is required on the train.
