Description
Set out from Brightlingsea Harbour in Essex for an interesting and relaxing cruise birdwatching. The waterfront is bustling with activity and charm and this historic port has been a famous sailing centre for many years. Meet at the new town jetty and board a traditional Thames barge before heading out of the creek and up the River Colne. Experts from the Essex Wildlife Trust are on board to help spot and identify an impressive amount of wildfowl, migrants and waders as you pass Fingringhoe Wick Bird Reserve along the way. In between the gorgeous natural sights, tuck into a hot buffet lunch and chat with fellow enthusiasts. Returning to the point of departure via Bradwell or West Mersea, this is a wonderful cruise for bird and nature lovers alike.
Availability: Available on a weekend date in October. Weather: The experience takes place in all weather conditions. Duration: Cruises last approximately five hours. Numbers On Day: A maximum of 50 people sail aboard the barge. Spectators: Dress Code: Dress for the weather with a hat, sunglasses and sun cream in summer. Please avoid high heels.
