Description

Come to Wales for a day of coasteering and other exciting activity experiences, offering adrenaline junkies a morning mix of rock climbing, swimming, scrambling and traversing. Then an afternoon of kayaking, surfing or abseiling (weather permitting) and possibly cliff jumping (for the decent swimmers, if conditions allow) so slip into the essential wetsuit and secure your safety helmet before you get stuck in. After the coasteering session, there is a break for an hours lunch. The weather in the afternoon will dictate whether you’ll be kayaking, surfing or abseiling next on this activity day. The spectacular rocky coastline of St David’s peninsulas in Pembrokeshire is stunning, so grab the chance to explore Britain’s only coastal natural park.

Availability: Runs seven days a week. This is a very popular experience and gets very busy in the summer – book at least three months in advance for peak summer dates. Weather: If the weather is deemed unsafe (e.g. wind too strong) by TYF Adventure, the experience might be cancelled. Please call the venue before setting out. Duration: Two three and a half hour sessions which equate to around five hours of activity time, with an hour break for lunch between activities. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of your booked time. Numbers On Day: There will be up to 10 people taking part. If there are more than eight of you, there will be two instructors on hand. Spectators: Spectators are welcome, although a lot of the action takes place on the cliff face. Viewing is possible from the Pembrokeshire coast path which lines the cliff tops (but safety comes first so do not get close to the edge and steep drop beyond it!) Dress Code: Bring old trainers, swimwear, shorts, towel and a change of clothes. Your clothes and shoes will get wet. You’ll dry off outside before returning to the centre, where hot showers await. A buoyancy aid, wetsuit and helmet will be provided. Guidelines: If you travel by rail, please show your rail ticket when you arrive to claim a ten percent eco adventure discount. The TYF shop and office are located opposite the National Trust shop, just above the Cross Square. There are two car parks within a few minutes walk. Restrictions: Minimum age is 8. You’ll need to be a confident swimmer and reasonably fit. You’ll be asked to complete a medical declaration on arrival. Other Info: Locally sourced packed lunches are available for £6 per person and must be booked in advance. A choice of second activity (kayaking, surfing or abseiling) is subject to weather and availability on the day.

Location: St. David’s, Pembrokeshire
