Take to the skies in a speedy, feather light microlight for a sensational aerial experience. Start off with a concise briefing, before stepping into a dual-controlled microlight and ascending to the skies. This fixed wing microlight is akin to a conventional light aircraft, ensuring safety at altitude. Once airborne, enjoy the incredible velocity and agility of the nippy craft and take over the controls with an instructor offering tips and guidance every step of the way. This particular flight can count towards a Private Pilot Licence for anyone who wishes to take their flying further.

Availability: February – October, including public holidays. Weekends can get very busy, so we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance. Weather: Microlighting is a weather dependent activity and it’s essential to call the venue between 8am – 9am for a weather check. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: The flight lasts around 1 hour. Numbers On Day: The briefing might be shared. The flight itself is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: From the A377 at Umberleigh follow the signs for Kingford Hill. At the top of the hill turn left onto the B3217 and turn left at the Radar Station. At the crossroads turn right. The closest rail station is Umberleigh. Restrictions: Maximum weight is 16 stone and minimum age is 14. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who’ll be required to sign a disclaimer. Other Info: This flying time can count towards a microlight private pilot’s licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint-hearted.
