Kart at an amazing outdoor circuit where many a Formula 1 driver started out (including the likes of British drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button). Start off with an essential safety briefing with other guests, followed by ten minutes of practise laps to get used to the karts and the full outdoor international circuit. Slide behind the wheel of a RT8 390 cc kart, a machine capable of reaching a speed of up to 70 mph. Then drive against the other participants in a 45 minute endurance race ideal for novice drivers and kart racing experts alike. Every driver receives printed lap times and the experience concludes with a trophy presentation for the top three drivers. Who dares wins!

Availability: Weekday evenings, once a month throughout the year. Weather: Racing might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) which would make driving at high speed dangerous. Contact is made in the event of cancellation. Unused laps can be credited for another visit. Duration: The event lasts for two to three hours, with 55 minutes driving time (including practise). Safety rules dictate that missing any of the initial briefing means not being able to take part, so please don’t be late. Numbers On Day: Up to 35 drivers take part. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. The venue has state-of-the-art clubhouse facilities serving hot and cold food and it also offers excellent viewing areas. Dress Code: Wear trainers or similar flat shoes. A clean helmet, balaclava, competition-style race suit, gloves and rib protectors are provided. Guidelines: From London, take A2/M2 to M2 junction 3 and keep left on the ramp. At roundabout take third exit onto A229 and next roundabout the second exit. Then you will see signs for Buckmore Park. Alternatively, from the M20, exit junction 6 and proceed up Bluebell Hill. At the top, exit left and keep to left lane. At lights take the first exit left. The nearest train station is Chatham and the nearest airport is Rochester. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Drivers don’t need a driving licence or any driving experience. Minimum height is 5′, maximum height is 6’4”. Maximum weight 18 stone. Other Info: To participate, do not drink any alcohol for a minimum of 12 hours before the experience. After the event has finished, feel free to relax in the on-site bar.
