For animal lovers, a family day out in the countryside doesn’t get any better than this. Enjoy a jaunt in the wonderful West Sussex countryside aboard a vintage Barouche carriage and soak in the sights as a family, before sitting down to a delicious picnic. Meet your trusty steeds, Tommy and Charlie, before boarding the carriage for a 45 minute drive that takes in some of the country’s most breathtaking rural views. Afterwards, take a secret footpath down to your very own private picnic spot and enjoy a delicious hamper filled with treats such as pork pies, free range boiled eggs fresh from the local farm, cheese and chutneys, traditional lemonade, half a bottle of wine, ale, tea and coffee – and more. Bliss!

Availability: Seven days a week from April – October, excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: In the event of extreme weather conditions such as ice or snow, this experience may be cancelled and can be re-scheduled. If in doubt, please call the venue before setting off. Duration: Lasts around six hours, including a 45 minute carriage drive and time to enjoy the picnic. Numbers On Day: This experience is exclusive to two adults and two children, plus a professional carriage driver and groom. Spectators: This experience is exclusive to two adults and two children. Dress Code: Please dress according to the weather conditions and wear sensible shoes for the countryside. Warm, cosy blankets are available in colder months. Guidelines: Restrictions: This is for two adults and two children under 16. Maximum overall carriage weight is 40 stone. Participants must be physically able to climb into and out of the carriage.
