Experience the thrills and spills of powerboating with this fun-filled day out in Southampton. Begin with a safety briefing and see the vessel before both getting kitted out in specialist powerboating gear ready for action! Climb into the passenger seats of a Honda HF4S powerboat and hold on tight while the skipper opens up the throttle and demonstrates what this powerful boat can really do. During the morning session, both take over the controls (30 minutes each) with expert tuition and take the Honda for a spin across The Solent, picking up handy powerboating tricks along the way. Enjoy a break for lunch (not included) at the riverside Folly Inn and then spend the rest of the afternoon perfecting your driving skills on a challenging offshore circuit.

Availability: Weekend dates from April to mid October. Book at least four weeks in advance (please be aware that bookings are taken up to a maximum of three months ahead). Weather: This is a weather dependent activity. It’s essential to call the venue for a weather check between 5pm and 7pm the evening before the booking. Duration: Starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm, including lunch and around four hours on the water. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to two others, plus the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the shore. The marina is equipped with a number of restaurants and bars. Dress Code: Dress warmly and bring waterproofs and a change of clothes. Bear in mind that there is a high wind-chill factor aboard the boat. Wear flat, non-slip shoes (e.g. trainers or deck shoes). An old pair of sunglasses/ski goggles are useful in sun and wind. Guidelines: From M27, exit J3 onto M271 following signs to ‘Waterfront’. With Ocean Village on your right, drive straight on, under bridge until you reach T junction with ‘The Chapel Arms’ ahead. Turn right, then right again at roundabout by St. Mary’s Stadium (into Belvidere Road). Pick up signposts for Shamrock Quay and turn right into William Street. From M3, exit J14 onto A33, then follow directions as above. Please telephone if you have any problems. Restrictions: Minimum age is 8 (under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian), maximum age is 70.
