Description
This excellent half day yacht thrill gives water loving individuals the chance to sail aboard an impressive Clipper 60 ocean race yacht. Begin with a welcome tea or coffee then get kitted out with a life jacket ready to set sail. Start by preparing the sails, leading ropes and getting used to this majestic vessel before departing the marina and motoring down the River Hamble while tucking in to a baguette lunch. Upon reaching the Solent, hoist the sails and see the yacht in its element. Everyone gets the chance to steer the vessel and enjoy the scenery. The trip eventually turns back to the River Hamble where the sails are dropped and the yacht motors home.
Availability: Around four Monday – Friday dates per month from April – September. All booking is subject to availability. Weather: Sailing is weather dependent. It is vital to telephone the centre the day before the booking to confirm conditions. Strong winds or rough seas have an impact on the day, and in such cases the itinerary is subject to change. Duration: Runs from 12 midday – 4pm. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with up to 11 other budding sailors. Spectators: Friends and family can watch the departure and return from the river, but the yacht is out of sight most of the day. Dress Code: Safety kit such as lifejackets and wet weather clothing are provided. Please wear non-marking, closed toe footwear (trainers or deck shoes are ideal). Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 12 (anyone under 18 must attend with a participating adult). Regrettably, the yacht is unable to accommodate wheelchairs. Other Info:
